What do you mean run? For picture viewing I use XnView and gifs load fine.

Thanks for a reply. After much searching I find it is a common problem, gif's will not run actively in Vistas MS picture manager/Windows photo gallery or Acers own Picture viewer. All you get is the first frame.

I have found a workaround by opening them with IE however you have to be on the net to do that.

What is XnView?

XnView (http://www.xnview.com/) is for viewing pictures and organizing. And when you view GIFs they do animate.

BTW you can just start IE and open the gif from the File menu. You dont have to be online.

Brilliant, thanks heaps, downloaded it and it works a treat.

BTW whilst searching I came across a tiny file which when installed gives you full control of any Windows Vista system file. That worked also, I had (by accident) after a reformat a ghost file of the operating system I could not delete. This little program let me take control and delete it. Info here,
