Hi Terry,

What version of Online Armor are you running? I just performed a full auto update with AV+, build 1.1.1.804. Everything worked well - could have been an intermittent internet outage, OR, if you are using a very old version of Online Armor, the update server is no longer there.

Do you get that every time? I can probably help more if I know what version you're on.

Ahhh, this could cause it :( OA needs to have a lot of system access to do it's work, so please, remove the blocking.

To pop up an image on this board, you need to upload it somewhere - then you can link to it using the "img" tag. You will need to specify the full url... eg. http://theserver.com/thedirectory/myimagename.gif

Hi Mike: Running version 1.1.1.804. Have unblocked oaui.exe and put in Trusted in Outpost now getting updates.

Yes I get Window Explorer error everytime and always the same one if Program Guard is on. Right now I have it off and all is working OK.

Still working on that problem will be back with more soonest.

OK did a Restart of Computer and opened IE with Program Guard on. No Error regards Window Explorer.

Closed IE and opened Opera 8.54 with Program Guard on and let it come up then closed it amd opened IE got Window Explorer error.

Did a restart and tuned off outpost and Window Defender. Opened IE with Program Guard on. No Error.

Closed IE and opened Opera with Program Guard still on, closed Opera and opened IE got error.

Checked Event Viewer shows same Application error that I posted above.

As long as Program Guard is off I have no errors....

Just to check further I installed Firefox V 1.5.0.4 to see what would happen. Have the same problem with it as stated above when using Opera. When go to IE after using FF I get the same Window Explorer error if Program Guard is on.

Also currently getting on Auto Updates: Internal Server Error message. Well don't know what happened there as just got Auto Update??????

Thanks And Help Appricated. Also am in no hurry as it is a strange problem or appears to be to me amyways  Anyhow running OA with Program Guard off at present.

Any checks you want me to do on my end let me know and I will run them. There will be some delay as to time difference.

OK I have continued to try and track the problem down at my end. I had it narrowed down to a conflict between Outpost Pro and Online Armor. As to what it is I don't know?

I uninstalled Outpost Pro completely everything I could find regarding it and now Online Armor is OK with program Guard on. No error like posted above.

I do know that Outpost was blocking OASRV.exe as it showed this: Process Network Access Blocked: OASRV.exe Modified Memory of WG,MS,OA,LTV.
I went in to Outpost and added this to try and stop the problem: Program Files\Tall Emu\Online Armor\OASRV.exe This was added to Process Memory Control of Outpost. Didn't help the problem.

I am going to reinstall Outpost Pro and turn off OA Program Guard for now.

Any Ideas,fixes,hints,suggestions?

Thanks

Terry

are u sure u properly added the right executable to outpost's process memory exclusion list?

alternatively, u can try disabling outpost's process memory control altogether.

Is anyone else having problems with Outpost?

I haven't played with it myself, but if this is a common problem I will take a look.

Mike

I am not but I haven't upgraded beyond Outpost 3.0 Also I have the OA executables on the allow list of modifying memory, and I have component control disabled. Just patiently waiting on OA firewall.

Hi Pete;

What executables did you add to the list and their path? I have component control disabled also.

Thanks

Well nothing that I have tried or been suggested has worked same problem as my second post.

Even with Outpost disabled I have the problem. The only time that I don't is if I completely uninstall Outpost or turn off Program Guard in OA.

Sorry I don't have a clue unless there is a registery problem where 2 programs are trying to use the same key. Like I said not into programing so wouldn't have a clue if this is possible.

Like I said in my post Restart computer with everything set normal program guard on etc. IE comes up with no error. Close it and open either Opera or Firefox close out open IE and get error.

Turn ProgramGuard off restart computer and repeat the above no error.

Just don't know what it could be that is in conflict.

Thanks

Hi Terry,

I re-read this thread - didnt catch what version of Outpost you have?

Probably outpost and OA are trying to do similar things in the most recent version of OP. If it is the latest version of Outpost, I will give it a try.

Hi Mike

Yes I am using lastest Version of Outpost Pro and Online Armor. Also all other programs in use are lastest Versions or currently up to date.

Went to Outpost Forum and posted problem there and got a reply which I will post here as it may help someone else as it did me.This from Paranoid2000:::

"Since this happens when starting IE after closing Firefox or Opera, I am going to suggest the problem to be default browser settings or one of the other registry changes that Explorer makes when IE starts up. I presume that other Internet-using applications (email, IM, etc) are unaffected - if they are then it would strongly suggest something else. However you may wish to check default browser settings - disabling the default browser check in IE and also making one of the other browsers your default, if you have not already."

I did as they suggested Unchecked box in IE options where IE checks if default Browser and make Opera default Browser and it cleared the problem and all programs are working normal finally.

Still to me a strange problem and I still don't have a clue as to the why? But I was close when I thought it had to do with the Registery. I guess it's something you need to look into when have the time but at least you all have some idea as to what is happening.I hope?

Again: Thanks for the help.

Best

Terry
