Yahoo email contents disappeared (Solved)

When I have the OA running (mail shield, web shield, program guard, firewall) I cannot view the contents of my yahoo emails. It seems like OA is blocking it for some reason, but I did not get a popup block message or anything.

When I disable OA I can view my emails. Is there a setting in OA to fix this?

I am running Windows XP, FireFox. Running OA in Standard Mode.

If you untick Web Shield in OA under General can you view them? If so, you might try adding mail.yimg.com to Websites as trusted. You may need to delete your temporary internet files before trying it again

Are you also running the latest version, 3.5.0.14?

I cannot log into Yahoo email if OA is running, and I have set all settings within websites and other settings.

Thankyou CatPrincess!!! Your solution worked.

Here's what threw me off. The mail.yimg.com site was already in my OA websites listed as "Unknown". I had the "Options" set to "Prompt when blocking content...". However, I never saw any prompt.

So the final solution was to change the status of mail.yimg.com to "Trusted".

Also, I am running the latest version (3.5.0.14) and had to do the following to affect the changes to OA.

1. Log out of Yahoo email.
2. Close out FireFox browser..
3. Clear temp files (I used CCleaner).
4. Make changes to OA.
5. Open browser and log back into email.

It seems like you need to repeat this process after each change to the OA Websites Options.

Content blocking of ActiveX is done on the page itself rather than by prompting. I'm assuming you didn't see any 'Blocked by Online Armor' messages that you could click on to unblock the blocked content?

Can you give us some more details? What version of OA are you running? What exactly happens when you try to login to Yahoo email, an error message etc?

That is correct. There was no message to let me know that OA was blocking content.

Question - Since I put the Yahoo email in my trusted sites, am I leaving myself open for any email vulnerabilities? I currently run a separate antivirus email scanner so should be ok there.

Webshield detects things such as ActiveX and applets but Yahoo is a well known email provider so I don't think you need worry about allowing them

Please post this. When I first installed OA and then logged into my Yahoo email I got an alert from OA about Active "X" from Yahoo. I clicked allow and thats it. You do need to add Yahoo email to the trusted list. But simply add "mail.yimg.com". This is confirmed on 4 pc's now.
